Later, she returned to UW-W and completed her graduate degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Community Counseling. For the past 15 years, Gwen has been working as a counselor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Health & Counseling Services.
Gwen is excited to work in the community with children, teens, adults, and families. She has experience working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, and life transition issues and challenges. Gwen also works with individuals with eating disorders, and their families, and with student-athletes and those who identify as LGBTQ*. She is also a Reiki practitioner.
Gwen uses strategies from a variety of therapeutic approaches including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and positive psychology. Her primary focus is on developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with each new client. She provides an environment where clients can talk freely and hear themselves express thoughts and feelings. This leads her clients to their own unique answers.
